LAUREN ZARAMBO : AN ARTISTíS STATEMENT The symbolic nature of our existence has interested me for decades. As a figurative symbolist, painting in the plein air tradition, I work primarily in the mediums of watercolor and oil. I choose simple objects as subjects in my still lifes which can be related to universally. My influences stem from the natural and spiritual world. The study and teaching of sacred geometry is a current focus. Recognizing and honoring the innate energy and sacredness of all forms of nature is the practice. The underlying geometry offers a wealth of compositional foundations for my work.. I choose to paint from life, "plein air", because it is a direct source. By consciously honoring and utilizing nature we access one of our most direct connections to the divine.
